Welcome to Zimbabwe Women Driver's Trust

The Zimbabwe Women Drivers Trust is a non-governmental organization committed to empowering women drivers across Zimbabwe. Our mission is to offer support, training, and opportunities for women in the driving and transportation industry.

Founded in 2020, the Trust was inspired by an insightful episode of Issues Pane Nyaya on radio, which showcased the groundbreaking achievements of women entering male-dominated professions. The episode highlighted the unique challenges faced by women truck drivers, including limited job opportunities, a strong preference for male drivers by trucking companies, and widespread harassment at ports of entry. These barriers have discouraged countless women from pursuing this rewarding career path.

In response, the Zimbabwe Women Drivers Trust was established to provide a much-needed platform for female drivers to raise their voices, share their experiences, and access new opportunities within the trucking industry. Through advocacy, skills development programs, and the creation of safe driving environments, the Trust aims to empower women, champion their rights, and promote gender equality in the workplace.
